Well, other people have confirmed that there is a "hole" between 150-160ish, and on my board the hole is from 150 to atleast 166. I haven't tried higher since I don't like upping any voltages beyond stock and I'm more than happy with the performance I'm getting. Also, everything is stable where it is now so I don't see a need to push any further, I guess I'll keep a lookout for a bios that fixes that hole in the future.

GA-EP45-DS3R - F11a is released 26.11.08.
Added to list when I check my database.Previous BIOS F10 has been from 22.09.08.
No idea what has been change.

Anybody with an EX58-UD4P tried either F6 final or F7c to see if the overclocking issues have been fixed? I really don't want to give up my totally stable 3.33 Ghz clock.

Hmmm--I'm using F6(final) with a 920 & running at 170(3.4GHZ) very solid--using Ubuntu Linux Alpha test 9.04. I run all 8 at 95% with BOINC/Seti@home & with a Zalman 9700, my core stays at 46C.

Running G.Skill 1600 memory with their tech dept recommended settings--multiplier is @ 10 to give 1700.

I've upped the voltages a bit--still staying within Intel specs...If you want I'll post how I have it setup.......

Hi,

Just a heads up:

Q-FLASH does not work in F6d for me. It crashes right after CMOS verification, and won't let me flash.
I unfortunately had to use @BIOS, but at least it fixed the problem and I was able to revert to previous BIOS...

P.s S3 still does not work.

Did you try downloading a BIOS from a different source? Well, I guess you may not be able to. Please post for me the exact link you downloaded from and I will get the file from another source and compare checksums and see if they are the same.

If they are, then I will report this to Gigabyte for sure as it is for sure a bug that needs corrected

I only tried downloading F6d from this thread (page 1) earlier today, here is the exact link I used: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/7/...ex58ex.F6d.zip
I just rechecked, and checksum is C500.

I will pass it along, I get the same checksum in windows from my two sources so they are the same files from both places I normally would obtain them

They were created on the same day/time, however I do see the file you linked from Fileden/Here was modified some 18 hours later then the other one as you can see here.

Not sure how that is possible with the checksums being the same???



Does it flash ok in DOS with FlashSPI or 895? Or are you up for that? That is how I would have flashed before ever trying @BIOS. Don't try it if you are worried, not worth the risk at all!! I just wondered if you had tried or thought of that

This issue would need to be addressed anyhow so I will pass it along this afternoon. They surely already know though as we are not the only ones who obtain and share Beta's

Everyone has Left in Taiwan by now so it will have to go in to them later today (Friday Morning for them)

I didn't try FlashSpi or 895 (?), and the only other method I thought of trying was with awdflash and a bootable CD...

The thing about @Bios is I had used it before reading the warnings about it >.< (just after getting the board for the first flash). It was still installed and I wasn't that 'scarred' (maybe I should be) to use it again.

The other thing is, until reading the other post (I previously linked) with the person having a similar problem with F6d, I thought I was going to be stuck with that BIOS without solution forever. lol. (bunk/corrupt flash, etc...). Times were desperate, and @BIOS was a desperate measure :p.

Anyway I'm glad it worked... Lsd, I would think everything is back to normal, since after using @BIOS and reverting to a working BIOS, I flashed again using the "correct" Q-Flash method. This should be the case right?

Lsdmeasap, thanks for all the hard work you do on the Gigabyte forum. I have a quick question I am hoping you can pass along to the engineers:

Can they please update the AHCI rom version for the P35-DS3P bios?

The bootup is so slow when ACHI or RAID is enabled. I know countless other users of this motherboard have complained of the same problem. If this would be fixed, it would make the P35-DS3P the best motherboard I have owned in 10+ years. Right now it is just plain annoying on startup.

Thank you for your help, I saw they updated the AHCI rom in the UD5-f6c bios and figured they could probably do it for the P35-DS3P too.
