I'm on GA-EX58-Extreme - F6a w/ a 920 and 12 gb of 1600 ddr3 ... can't oc past bclk=150 (seems this is a bios issue?). As some other guy mentioned, warm boot seems to like it but not cold boot. Plz fix cause this sucks :|

I haven't tried F6b yet (I think I'm on F5e or F5f), but also on the GA-EX58-Extreme with a 920 and 12gb DDR3 1600 and cannot get bclk past 150 on a cold boot. In the F4x series bios I was running 183 bclk x 21 (turbo) no problem.

Im trying to install the newest bios for my EP45 DS3L motherboard, without success. Im currently running on a vista64, and when trying to install the newest bios (F10) Vista says I need to install the correct file for my system. So where can I find the right setup file for windows vista64?

Just wondering if anyone has info regarding a finalized version of the EX38-DQ6 F4 BIOS. We've been at F4a since 2008/07/30. I realize there are newer boards that need attention, but, I'm beginning to feel like this board has been forgotten!

Andreas1983, please see here for how to update/flash your BIOS. You should not be using @BIOS. >>

And be SURE you have the correct BIOS for your board, you will need to unzip the file and use the .F10 file >>>

Sometimes if the BIOS works great they will leave it at that, are you having issues?

Hey LSD,


I saw that on XSforums you are looking for people with the X58 Extreme to post on which BIOS S3 works while OC'd, so that the problem can be identified.

The only BIOS where S3 Consistantly works for me is F3 ( Power options in BIOS have to be left at default (HPET OFF)).
S3 works all the time upto 200bclk (4.0/4.2Ghz - 21/20x200). I haven't run higher OC's long enough to confirm that S3 still works properly above this...

All other Bios's I have tried in order to fix S3 while Oc'd either work sometimes, or not at all.
I have tried: F3, F4a, F4i, F4j, F4m, F5, F5a, F5C, F5d, F5e, F5f, F6a, F6b.


I hope you can pass this info on to the Techs LSD :)

What? That sounds like a unfinished thought. What Happened in the past BIOS's with 1.3+ QPI on a cold start?

ah u know I was looking around for people having the same problem as me, with my Gigabyte X58 i7, of not booting when cold, taking about 3 tries, and then work fine once warm. This sounds like the same deal; whenever I am running a Bclk of 160 or 200 (my 2 favorite overclocks) pc doesn't boot cold (works fine when stock settings). Well and yes I am running a QPI voltage of at least 1.34v.

Anyway u know what I found on some other forum, that seems to help?

Turn OFF my LCD monitor power before I go to bed, then boot up PC, and do not turn on LCD until I hear fans kick down, and for 1 week I could not cold boot (when overclocked), then for the last 2 mornings cold booted fine, at my 2 different OC's (at 1.34-1.40v QPI and 160 and then 200 Bclk's)
I dunno, still find it hard to believe it worked (still thinkin maybe flukes? as it's same bios and settings)

but if they were flukes it seems this mew Bios ain't gonna help ur saying?
