Please clarify, I read that some are having problems updating the latest GG bios AMD AGESA 1.2.0.Cc

"Update AMD AGESA 1.2.0.Cc for fix Sinkclose Vulnerability of AMD processors (SMM Lock Bypass)"

I am 2 versions behind as I fear doing bios update. I updated mine just months ago and now 2 new updates.

As I am unfamiliar with bios, especially correcting the resulting problems, I appreciate the help here on whether this bios update is safe to proceed.

Since u are not much used in flashing bios I suggest u to stay on the latest stabe. All gigabyte bios based on agesa 1.2.0Cc are all betas for now and I'll avoid them.

How can I tell when it is not a beta? I assume it is a stable version when it is in GG web. No?

No, there's betas on gigabyte's website too, but at least for my board it's easy to determine which is beta and which is stable, the betas have a letter after the number(s)
F35 is stable and F35d would be the beta for example.

Usually beta bios have a lower case letter (which indicate the bios beta revision) after the major version. For example for my b550 aorus elite ax v2 (rev.1.0) the latest beta bios is called F19d. That "d" means it is a beta bios and that is the forth revision (there were beta bios F19a, F19b, F19c before)..

Non beta bios should be named without that lower case letter, like F19 in my case.

Nope, thats the agesa version, it's a different matter. What u have to look is the name of the gigabyte released version, Like I said before something like F19a, or FGa or whatever gigabyte is using right now as naming.

For my Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite Wifi the BIOS download is labelled as `Update AMD AGESA 1.2.0.Cc for fix Sinkclose Vulnerability`. But the release statements says that the 1.2.0.Cc is for 3000-series processors. I have a 5800X, do I need to install some other BIOS?

I connected the 3.5 Inch All in One USB 3.2 Card Reader to the internal 3.2 connector of the motherboard with a 19Pin 20Pin Splitter Extension. When I insert a USB stick (any) it is not recognised. Maybe I need to configure the bios? Help me.

Aorus x670 Xtreme + Ryzen 7950x here. I just updated from a perfectly stable bios F11 to F31 and I`m having nothing but problems. My bios is almost on default settings, I just set it to 80 degrees maximum + 10 negative cores. Sometimes during gaming the computer just turns off but in Cinebench R23 it is stable. It also turns on by itself despite the fact that wake on lan is off. Waiting for final F32 or I`ll try F30. Any experiences with similar issues, anyone?

Gigabyte Finally released Bios's for all Z690's on the 28th F30e
there will also be a new bios early august say support (but im sure it will be late august for Z690 knowing Gigabyte)

Be warned when you disable Intel Default's

AC load line on 13900k used to be 0.6 its set to 0.4 now like they do on 14900k

so will cause instability on 95% of cpu's

Gigabyte really have no idea what they are doing and i have ripped support a new one about this
not that its a problem for me as i can just fix it but it will be for most customers

CPU Vcore Loadline Calibration: Normal
CPU Internal AC/DC Loadline: Auto
IA AC Loadline: 0.60 mOhm (Manually Set)
IA DC Loadline: 1.10 mOhm (Manually Set to Match CPU Vcore Load Line Calibration: Normal which is 1.10 mOhm)

so the cpu can work out how much power is being used which for Z690/Z790 is 1.1 mOhm Gigabyte delib lie to the cpu to fudge the power use numbers they did this on Z390 also, Asus have been mirroring this over from CPU Vcore Loadline Calibration for quite some time in the correct manner)
