@Zeeflyboy, try running "tpm.msc" and see if it says anything.

So last time I selected N, so it won't have enabled tpm on the "new" CPU.

As a result unsurprisingly if I run tpm.msc it comes up with compatible TPM cannot be found. Next time it happens I'll hit Y and see what comes up, it did pass the compatibility check and showed a tpm 2.0 device in device manager last time it was enabled though so appeared to be working fine. Just for some reason the motherboard keeps detecting a new CPU or something is getting corrupted.

Is it just for me that after updating to the latest Bios (F34C), the keyboard counts "thinking"?

Press the button eg Ctrl + C and the lately Ctrl + V /3 pressing the text is pasted.

The same with "Dot" ->. To write something like this "..." /I have to press until 5 times!

Keyboard is SteelSeries APEX M800, the latest Windows 10 + latest drivers from the X570 chipset (Gigabyte Aorus Xtremne)

MyJules it happened again this morning so I hit Y this time, and now if I run tpm.msc all looks normal and working. I think given it even happens when tpm is disabled on the "new" CPU after hitting N, it must be due to the motherboard erroneously detecting a new CPU constantly rather than the fTPM becoming corrupted.

I guess I will just have to wait for tpm modules to hit normal prices again!

When I enable Above 4G Decoding + Resize BAR, with CSM disabled, I now can get into windows with Resize BAR Enabled, however I cannot get back into bios via pressing the Delete key on cold boot or reboot, it just passes by the bios option screen and boots into windows. Is that normal? I'd have to re-set the bios and reload my bios profile to get back into the bios without Resize BAR

I very much doubt that when the first official W11 build rolls out later this year that TPM 2.0 will be optional or easy to bypass. I've had fTPM running in my x570 motherboard for the past two years. In fact, I've been using all of the W11 baseline hardware & software settings for years, literally, while running Win10. All of that stuff is old news...

At their time each OS was good - even back to W95 and even Vista and W8 were useable. With W10 the mash of old and new style settings screens is very annoying but never gets in the way of actually using the PC - thats all an OS is for after all. Its easy to forget how often XP would need rebooting and W10 is very good with h/w - I changed CPU from 6700K to 5800x and W10 was able to sort out a boot without a re-install.

W11 wont be that bad. If you have Ryzen 2000 or 8th gen Intel it should a quick process to enable TPM 2.0 (and people should already be UEFI boot) to check W11 compatibility - we'll all just have to quietly wait until actual launch.

Like putting a h/w build together keeping a Windows install happy over a number of years is actually a skill - people always blame the h/w or MS when things go wrong but sadly everyone feels themselves to be a expert these days when thats clearly not true.

I never see the BIOS screen - just a pause followed by the Windows logo. I'm not sure if its due to CSM off or having Fastboot enabled but I just use the Fast Boot app to reboot into BIOS or you can do the same from the advanced boot options in W10.

Why "should" it?

Imo, if there is anything to say anything about the pattern, I think it would be that when there are bigger changes there tends to be a dumpster fire on launch that is fixed over the years if there is a long time until the next version, or it's fixed with the next version if there is a short time until the next version.

XP, absolute dumpster fire when it first launched, great after a couple of years worth of fixes.
Vista, mild dumpster fire on release, pretty good by SP1
7, pretty good on release, but effectively just a reskinned Vista. The USP was effectively that it was not called Vista, giving it a fresh start in terms of reputation
8, absolute dumpster fire in terms of UI design
8.1, fixed a lot of the issues from 8, still some strange UI choices but much better user experience for the desktop. Overall a pretty solid version
"10", is actually twelve different Windows versions so far, not really fair to "review" as if it was a single version. I would say that the later Windows 10 versions are probably the best Windows versions so far all things considered.

As for 11, if the preview version is anything to go by it seems like it's largely visual changes, but which are nowhere close to as controversial as what happened in 8. This actually makes me hopeful that it will have a fairly good launch.

I don't think so, since Win11 won't be officially released to the masses until later this year, probably Nov-Dec. What Major Geeks or anyone else now running an early beta release does in the way of hacks to the beta releases until then very likely won't work at all when Win11 becomes officially available. Microsoft won't list fTPM 2.0 as a baseline requirement just to allow it to be easily hacked away...;) It would be pretty lame if they did, imo.

TPM is old news simply because I've been running it for the past two years on my x570 motherboard--and using GPT formatting and secure boot for a couple of years before that, even. There is nothing new at all in the baseline requirements in terms of hardware--all of it is supported and doable under Win10 and has been for years.

But here's a surefire way to avoid the Win11 baseline requirements, including TPM 2.0: keep running Windows 10 as it has another four years or so of supported life ahead of it. That's what the people complaining about the newer baseline requirements should do, imo.

When I disabled CSM instead of booting with CSM compatibility mode enabled I couldn't get to the bios and I wasn't using Fast Boot. I also have the boot logo disabled. Same behavior when I enable Above 4G Decoding + Resize BAR. Neither of your suggestions work :(
