    hi,

i have build up an new pc with
    an DS3, e8400 and 2x2gb apogee ddr2 1066 5-5-5-15

bios is v.F9 and the apogees will run with 1.9 at 1066
(on my old mainboard and P35 DS3 they run at 1180 with 2.0v)

for now i have OC'ed my cpu too 4ghz like this:

CPU and northbridge are watercooled, so they get not warm.

for now system seems to be stable, is there any fault in my config?

and *how can i increase my RAM performance, because i can't get the
    2x2gb over 1068mhz stable.

how can i do this, my older P35-DS3 reaced more ram performance so will
get this again if this is possible.

the apogess run very smooth, i have run them at 580 1:1 at 2.2v
(max. for this ram is 2.3v)

    thx for reading

    Re: EP45-DS3, E8400 @4ghz, 2x2gb Apogee GT 1066

For better performance you would need to manually set all the ram timings.

Driving Strength ............................1066 << I find the next one above ram speed being used is better. So try out 1200

    Channel A & B
Static tRead Value.........................:8 << you can try 7 but it may not work at those speeds.

You may also need a bit more MCH with your ram to be stable with that config and those speeds.

What you can do for more stability is use the 400 MHC latch and that will allow the ram to go much higher as the Northbridge timings will be looser then using the 333 Latch. So try this and see how it compares >>>

    MCH Clock Skew (ps)...................: 50-150

      hi,

      thx for your fast answer!

but i cant set the 400mch latch...

if i set this, system will not boot first, then i boot but settings are not taken...

Try again with a higher Static tread. If you still are failing to boot properly (Double boot is normal) post your full settings you are trying and I will advise

i try'd to get 400mch latch, but it will not work for me?
no boot, or fail to startup windows

          but i get this config:

for now this seems stable for me, like no problems with
games or orthos (little 1h test).

          questions:

is anything in my config that is bad to run as an 24/7 config?
          anything too high (esp. voltages)?

or can i anything do for more stability?

do you have further tips for me with this config?

and of course, thank you for reading.

            hi,

            upps.

this morning after 14h power off (cord plugged in) for some resason
my pc don't start up (coldboot), blackscreen.

after pressing reset, the bios set default/auto values for fsb and
mch latch and it will start.

i manually changed this settings to the values aboveand again
            erverything will work fine !?!

            whats that?

WOW I am very surprised you can boot 266 MCH latch at that speed, I would have to assume that is not going to be stable

Performance Enhance on Turbo is also not going to help. Your vcore and PLL/Vtt could come down a bit for sure once you get the ram/NB going on a a looser FSB

333 and or 400 would be much easier to get stable and then you would be able to likely use less voltages. 400 should be the easiest for you to use, I would have to think it did not boot for you only because you had some other setting to tight (Like maybe trd (Static tread) try 9 or you forgot to set your memory multi again after you switched to it)

                hmm,

266mch latch, work very smooth here, except this problem at *coldboot.
an warmboot is no problem at all incl. softboot and hardboot.

for now i try'd to set Performance Enhance on Standart.
i hope this helps next morning

i try'd very often to boot with 400mch. but i have never luck with this.

can you give me an example config (using my HW)
                to start for 400mch latch?

Well most often cold boot issue is due to more voltage needed, so if what you are using fails then try a bit more voltage. That and Performance enhance on Turbo can also cause it.

For 400 MCH try this >>>>
