  • ep45-dq6 new build, no post

I just completed a new ep45-dq6 build w/ a q9550, g.skill ddr2 800, evga 8800gt, 1 tb wd black, 750gb samsung, liteon dvd, enermax 500w, and antec 900 case. The problem is the computer turns on, but hardly ever posts. I started with 8 gb (4 sticks) and then tried 4 gb ram (2 sticks). I have checked/re-plugged all cables. ACPI led comes on/stays on, ram led flickers, sata led flickers, pci led flickers, and so do several other leds. The components were all just removed from my Asus p5q-e board, so I am sure they work.

I have successfully posted 3 times (over 1 hours) and then flashed to bios f10o. I have reset the cmos, tried using optimized defaults in the bios -- all to no avail. I believe the motherboard must be bad. Any help would be appreciated. Looks like I will likely rma the board. I wanted another gigabyte mb to replace my p35-dq6, however maybe I will have to stay with Asus.

    Thx.

First I would suggest you not use a Beta BIOS until you stable, then you can decide if you want that risk of errors or not.

So, what are you using now 4GB or 8GB, either one is going to need several things in the MIT adjusted. Was you doing that or leaving things in Auto?

If you was tweaking then you may have just set thing wrong, if you was leaving it all on Auto, that would be the problem.

If you do not wish to flash again, please post back with what settings you are using and I will reply with some suggested ones for you >>>

Just noticed that Gigabyte now offers 'F11' for EP45-DQ6, dated 2008-09-10, ie yesterday. Finally a new non-beta?
