Flash with Q-Flash or in DOS.
As I know newer @BIOS don't have this function any more.

Is there a way to backup all of your bios settings before flashing? I have 5 different settings for my Xeon Overclock and before I update I really did not want to have to renter all 5 different settings manually...

hi guys I'm new here! So I have a GA-X58A-UD7 rev.1 on my rig and I'm trying to flash it to the new F9A bios and I'm following the flashspi method on the guide but I get stuck in step #13: Once it boots to the USB, you will see a Windows 98 screen, and then the DOS prompt, because for some reason I can't type anything when the DOS prompt appears. I don't think its my keyboard because it works perfectly fine in the BIOS and I've tried switching to another keyboard and still I can't type in step #14. Help a brother out guys! :(

edit: I have also tried including the autoexec.bat that comes with the new BIOS in my bootable USB on the off chance that it might allow me to flash my BIOS without having to use my keyboard but I get an !!Incorrect BIOS files size!! error (paraphrased)

Try also with @BIOS....as noted for F8m on GB web page.

My first attempt was the @BIOS method but it still gave me an error saying the bios file size was incorrect. :(

Try F7...then F8m with Flashspi included in file or this @BIOS.

Ok I finally got to update my BIOS to F7 (GA-X58A-UD7 rev.1) using FlashSPI method, I still couldn't type anything after booting off the USB so I just put the autoexec.bat in there and it worked fine.
So I want to update my BIOS all the way to F9A, what would you suggest is the best course of action here?
Can I still use FlashSPI method or do I HAVE to use @BIOS (I've read several horror stories) utility?
Finally do I have to update my BIOS to F8M first or can I update straight to F9A?
                      All inputs are welcomed!! Thanks!

                        Hi,

Thanks but I'm taken aback by:

                        a) How slow and full of adds this site is (it crashes a lot in IE 8, Win 7)

                        b) How the sticky post as to how to fush the BIOS have not been updated to reflect the latest file format (i.e. exe and not .fxx)

                        c) How that utility to make a bootable USB HP USB Tool, hanged mid way in WIn 7 on two USB drives that I had to use Diskpart to reformat again afterwards. Is that utility damaged or infected? HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8? HPUSBFW

                        d) Lastly I'm teribbil disappointed at Gigabyte for the mobo: it is unaccetable for it not to recognize in BIOS a WD HD, nor an SSD or not to boot Win & from a DVD drive, using their SATA ports!

                        Any ideas?
                        Happy New Year!
