    Can you Help me..
    I've got q6600(box), MSI P35 Platinum Combo , Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G RAM 2x2(dual channel), and I want to ask you on default (AUTO) my ram works as 1066 on 7-7-7-20, but regulary should works on 9-9-9-24 with 1333 MHz . Please tell me how to set up with or without changing the FSB or the divider..soo I can get the full potential of my ram and what's best..
    tnx to all

      You will HAVE to run a FSB of at least 333 to run your ram at 1333Mhz, you can then use either 4.00A or 4.00B for 1333Mhz (333x4=1333)

      You will also have to set your ram voltage of course

        On my i7/UD4P I have noticed Memtest is not a good indicator of stability at all. A number of configurations I have found can run all night in Memtest but fail in the first 5 minutes of a Prime95 blend torture test. :(

        Also, any chance you can update this for the EX58 chips/DDR3, LSDMEASAP?

        Some things I've gathered from your postings:

        tFAW ~ 30-32
        tRC = tRAS + tRP
        tWTP = tWR + tWL + 4
        Command Rate = 2N for more stability (made Prime95 run for 3 hours longer than with the 1N setting before finding an error for me...still messing with voltages and stuff though to get completely error free)

          Memtest86+ is a fine indicator of Memory stability only, if you are failing Prime but passing memtest then you likely have other issues such as voltages (CPU or QPI/Vtt or NB) too low or something along those lines

          Yes, when I get some time (No Clue When) I will try to update this with some more relevant info for X58. Here is some more to add to your list >>

          tWTR = Write to Read (Same Rank) - tWL + 4
          tWL = Cas Latency - 1

            How do these look?
            I haven't been able to run a tRD of under 8 since I am using 400+ FSB. Any other timings that have to be loosen to achieve that? Or is it because of the FSB? I am now running 2.40B strap. While I was at 333MHz I could do tRD of 6 with memory@1066MHz using 3.20B strap.

              Ya, it is the FSB Speed that is limiting the tRD

                Oh well, I'll just have to use this settings then. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my A-DATA doing all this with 1.94V.

                  Ya, that is pretty good for A-Data. Is it rated to 2.1V or not? If so you may be able to push things, but of course that is all up to you and your thoughts about warranties

                    Yeah, it's 2.1V but I've never pushed it over 2.0V. It's pretty hot when testing @2V. Maybe when (if) I'll change my MB for a UD3P (and also change my 6-7 years old case) I'll try to go higher freq (or lower timings). Until then there's no point of trying.

                        If all memory settings are made manually, there would be no difference setting 2B or 2C, would there?

                          Yes, and no. There is a big difference between the NB timings using C and B

                          But to answer you directly, no as there is no 2.00C setting, so are you confused about something? I can help if you are, let me know.

                            Sorry, a typo. I meant 2D. So, you are telling me that the strap affects more than just the memory timings. To be clear, I am saying that all memory settings are done manually, and there is no change to the FSB. The only change would be selecting 2B instead of 2D.

                              Ahh, ok. Yes, the strap changes the northbridge internal Speeds and timings not the memory timings.

                              There is a difference but the amount depends on what all your other settings are. Here is some quick tests I did on just this type of thing for a user a week or so ago. >>>

                                Just wondering, will it be the same for DDR3?
