  • P35-DS3 rev1 Keyboard is dead

I'm unable to use a keyb with that mobo.
Once I turn on, PC speaker start with a very fast intermittent beep. It seems to be keyboard dependent and not a bios alarm just like if you keep pressing a key. I've tried 2 different ps2 keboard but nothing.
Swapping HD from another computer I was able to fash the Bios to latest F10 (i've read on gigabyte web that there were a problem with Ps2 keyb. resolved in a previous bios rel.).
Still now I cannot use the keyb not obviously enter the bios.
Keyb is dead and if I plug it i cannot use the mouse.

I've another computer with same mother board without that problem. I also swapped Rams with other brand, tried with 2, 2 dual ch, and 1 sim conf. Nothing.
Prolly this mobo is damaged and need to be changend with a new one.

    Any one experienced same problem?

Re: P35-DS3 rev1 Keyboard is dead

I recently had an MSI board with simular issuses and way past warranty period. The system would just beep at me if I attempted to use the keyboard PS2 port but worked just fine when I used a USB keyboard. The owner of the PC had a perfectly good PS2 keyboard that she was wanting to keep. Problem was "solved" by purchasing an adapter that converted the PS2 keyboard (and Mouse) to USB. Problem was obviously with the PS2 port.
