I am not sure if this belongs here or in the gigabyte forums, but since its more about the ram I will ask here. I have bought two of these 8gb kit. At first when I installed all 4 sticks I was having some issues in windows like my Asus Xonar D1 drivers not detecting my sound card correctly. I was set to XMP profile 2 (showing 1866/9-10-9-28) and was running the ram at 1.5v and QPI/VTT was at 1.050V. I decided to up the DRAM Voltage to 1.6V and my Asus drivers installed fine and I thought i was in the clear. Later I came home to a restart from a BSOD with a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD/restart cause by Chrome and thrown by Ntfs.sys. At this point I decided to change to Profile 1 XMP (still showing 1866/9-10-9-28) and raise my QPI/VTT to 1.150V (to keep within 0.5V of dram voltage) and I tried a few windows apps and SWTOR and no BSODs.

To be safe I ran Memtest86+ overnight and woke up to 12+ errors (attached image). It looked to me as if the errors were at 8gb+ so today I ran Memtest again with matching ram pairs in Slots 1+2 then again in slots 3+4 (to keep dual channel) so 4 different tests. I also ran both pairs slots 1+3 and 2+4 to test ch a and ch b on the motherboard in single channel this would make 4 more tests. I did not get any errors.

At this point it seems the ram sticks are all fine and that I need to tweak either the DRAM Voltage or my QPI/VTT (to keep it with in 0.5V of the DRAM Voltage). Could I get any advice as to what I should set those voltages to or if I am using the wrong Profile for XMP (only other option is disabled which is 1600/11-11-11-28) or if there are any other voltage settings I should look into.

Thanks in advanced for any help!

    Re: GSkill Sniper F3-14900-CL9D-8GBSR

    Hi Danial
Manual bios setting/ voltage rising maybe required for mixing sets, please update your bios to the latest version, if already there will want to clear the CMOS before the bios configuration, the system bios should configure as follows (please ensure that each kits were installed properly in the same color slots):

    1. Set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1866MHz.(i7-2600k,GA-Z68XP-UD4 [rev:1.0] Bios F6e, F3-14900-CL9D-8GBSR x2)
    2. Set timings to tCL 9 – tRCD 10 - tRP 9 - tRAS 28-Command Rate 2N.
    3. Set DRAM Voltage to 1.50V~1.65V.( Please raise 0.05V+ every time until the systems is stabilized)

If the issue still occurs after, please try to install each individual kit at a time to avoid the faulty modules. Please feel free to let us know how it goes, we are glad to assist you any time, sorry for your inconvenience and you have a nice day
