ASUS RT-AC88U problems switching internet

with my AC88U i have my android phone as my primary connection and sat internet as backup. becaouse of the speed and amount of data.. this has worked fine for a long time until now. now when i try to switch to my primary (usb phone )it will not connect unless i unplug my ethernet cable from sat internet qnyone have any idea why?? it worked fine for a long time ...
