  • Asus p5w dh deluxe, update bios goes wrong

    Hello,

I have tried to update my bios with tool which I found on my CD for motherboard.
Downloaded last version of bios on my desktop and chose that file withat that tool, it was successful 70% except last part. Unfortunately I restarted my pc and after that when I turned on it does not happen anything.

Also I have tried everything to fix it without success.

I filow this from link and nothing

Also I have downloaded latest version of bios, put it on my usb stick which is formated with flat32, also nothing. Also I am not able to enter into bios setings. I do not know what to do sth else.

I really hope so that I will get some advice here.

Sorry for my english gramma, regards from Bosnia and Herzegovina :)

    Thanks anyway!

Back in the day I have managed to brick my Asus p5k se with the windows update program but the manual said that if that happen just boot with the motherboard cd in the drive, and it did recover the bios.
Seems this is the same for your board, or from a usb

      Thanks for reply,

Well that was exactly what I did at first but nothing.

CD, USB with last version of bios, second stick with my old one bios, also nothing happens when turn on pc, just sounds of colers but monitor is dead.

I am also tried with jumpers to clear bios settings, nothing nothing.

      Do not know what else.

I can't remember if I saw anything on the screen that time.
Do you see any activity on the cd or usb?
Have you renamed the bios file to P5WDH.ROM?

I do not see any light on cd rom and stick, of course I have renamed file properly, also I was pull up cmos baterry a few times.

Perhaps mbo is done, without any chance anymore.

            Could be.
You can try to find someone who can program the bios chip with spi programmer, or buy pre programmed one .
            What cpu do you have?

A Skypro programmer can reflash that chip.
I forgot but I'm pretty sure that chip is socketed and not soldered. I don't remember anymore. I haven't had that board in 8 years.

If it's soldered, you can buy a Pomona 5250 clip and some male to female jumper cables and hook up the Pomona clip to the skypro (male to female).
If it's socketed, just pull the chip out and put it into the skypro with a SOIC8 SOP8 socket adapter, if the BIOS is 8 pin.
