      As long as your OK, don't suppose you want to share what it was that caused the issue, or how you fixed it then? Its XP so I guess no one really cares.

        if this was me I'd go out and buy (ok i already have) a 1 or 2 terrabyte usb drive and backup the entire D disk to the usb.
        I'd then use Free Download Magic Partition Manager freeware: EaseUS Partition Manager, Disk & Partition Copy and Partition Recovery Software.
        to clone your C drive to your D drive, and then set your bios to boot off D drive. you may have to resize your partition as well.

        realistically given that its a 75 G drive - if was me I'd put on the shelf and go get a new computer

        Note: I haven't given you a step by step solution, just a general plan on how to fix your problem
