  • silent pc?

Hi, I've got an asus M3A78-EMH HDMI with a quad core phenom processor in a silverstone itx "shuttle" type case.

It's hooked up to my TV, and am using it as a media server. I'd like to quite it down a bit... It's got a stock amd cooler, and one case fan, & a silverstone 400w psu.

I've already swapped a HD with a SSD. I've been getting about 50f and 52f for the cpu / board temperatures using speecy. (hard drives are around 29f)

I'm not sure If I should replace the cpu cooler or psu first?

Any suggestions? I've got about 1" ~ 1.5" clearance between the cpu cooler and the power supply.

what are you after ? quiet or cool...your temps are high .. Is it am AMD or Intel CPU ? Is the PSU loud? some are reguardless.. Only sure fire way to quiet a CPU is on water or an AMD with a passive heatsink...
