  • Getting ram up to speed on asrock z790 pg-itx/tb4

    Hi all,

I have the Asrock z790 pg-itx/tb4. I'm on the latest bios: 3.08 beta

    I have the following ram: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 7600 (PC5 60800) Desktop Memory Model F5-7600J3646G16GX2-TZ5RK

    It's 7600mhz, 36-46-46-121 at 1.4 volts.

How can I get this ram to meet the frequency it's supposed to on this board? I had an MSI board before that was rated 8000+ so just setting xmp worked fine. However that board was missing thunderbolt ports which is crucial to what I'm using my pc for. The best itx board I could find for the 13900k was the asrock as it has 3 m2 4x4 slots. There are literally no other itx motherboards with 3 4x4 slots so that's the reason I'm using this one, of course I need the thunderbolt as well.

What I've been able to do is set the xmp, manually enter the 4 timings above, and change the frequency to the board's rated frequency of 6800, but I believe I should be able to get this up to speed at 7600mhz. The problem is, I'm fairly new to overclocking in general and this is a tricky one. I looked at the xmp settings that these sticks have saved on them and set manually as much of the voltage and timings as I could, however there's a plethora of options on the bios and I feel I'm too noobish to get this done correctly. If anyone could help me out I'd be extremely gracious.
