I have an Asrock Z170 extreme 4 motherboard with an Intel i7-6700k. Originally, I had 2 x Crucial DDR4 2133 8GB sticks in it. I decided to upgrade the RAM and bought a kit of 4 x HyperX Fury RGB DDR4 2666MHz 8 GB sticks.
Trying to boot the computer with the new RAM results in an unbootable system and error code 55 (ram not detected) error on the motherboard.
The only way I can get the system to boot is to mix in one of the older RAM sticks. I can boot if I use one of each for example. I'm trying to force the motherboard to downclock the sticks manually but it doesnt work.
Any ideas?
