  • Brand New B85M-ITX will not power on

    Am putting together a new basic system.

    I Have built many a system but not in the last few years.

    They system gets power fans spin up then nothing.

    ASRock B85M-ITX Motherboard
    EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V
    Intel Core i5-4460
    g.skill 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C11D-8GNS
    Cooler Master Elite 130 - Mini-ITX Computer Case
    SATA DVDRW

    Did you connect the 4 pin cpu power connector ATX12V1 (No. 1 in manual page 9)? It won't start without it.

      Yes. All connections have been made. I calculated wattage @ around 235 needed to run, so psu should handle this. Or Should I have a bigger PSU?

          For Haswell-Refresh CPUs you need to upgrade to latest BIOS. Thus, you should first use an older CPU to be able to update your BIOS.

            There is a sticker on the uefi chip, saying something like '1.10'. What version is yours? For a i5-4460 you need at least version P1.80, as you can see here.

              Sticker is p2.20. So it is the most up to date bios.

                Figured it out. Finally removed cpu. bent pins on the MB that I had not noticed.
