Linux is not usually a supported OS by motherboard makers. You can see their supported OSs on their specification page.
Conventionally, original chip makers support their chips by giving information to software developers in order to develop open source drivers. Thus, every mainstream linux distribution (like ubuntu) has most supported hardware within itself, ranging from old ISA cards to very new chipsets and technologies. If you find some of your motherboard/laptop devices not working under linux, discuss about them on linux forums and they can help much better. Sometimes you have to wait for a newer version which includes support for that device.
Some bad manufacturers never support linux for their chips and it remains unsupported ever. This is an example of different hardware categories and their support status for linux:
CPU and its new technologies/instruction sets: Always good support
GPU and Graphics: Good if from ATI/AMD and nVIDIA, but very basic support (not including 3D) if from other manufacturers.
Sound Cards: Almost all cards are working.
Ethernet/LAN cards: Almost all cards are working.
Bluetooth/WiFi: Not sure but I think some chips are not supported.
Printers/Scanners: Depends on manufacturer and model. Most supported, but still many not-supported ones.
Storage/IDE/SCSI/SATA/...: Almost all chips are working.
Basic IO/USB3.0: Almost all chips are working.
Video/Capture cards: Very bad! A few chips work under linux.
Dial-up Modems: Very bad! A few chips work under linux.
Other hardware: I am not aware of!
About your motherboard, I think all its devices are supported by linux and work directly without need to install.
