But both of those procesors are am3 procesors. But i read on the internet am2+ sockets mobo should support am3 procesors.

In that link you send me is not even one am3. So i dont know.

Re: Welcome to ASRock Technical Support Forum!

        The link says:
        "Support for Socket AM2+ / AM2 processors: AMD Phenomâ„¢ FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core / Athlon X2 Dual-Core / Athlon 64 / Sempron processor"

It's possible that some AM2+ motherboard brands or models might support some AM3 processors, but only if the manufacturer offers an updated bios for the AM3 cpu.

A quick web search using am2+ am3 compatibility turned up this link: AM2+ and AM3 Compatibility - CPUs - CPUs -- Tom's Hardware.
Tom's has links to similar threads at the bottom of the thread.

Sorry, it looks like you are out of luck.

Re: Welcome to ASRock Technical Support Forum!

I don't think that the AMD Phenom X4 9650 will work, it's not in the cpu support list.
There are only two AMD Agena AM2+ Phenom X4 processors in the support list:
            • HD9600WCJ4BGD
            • HD9500WCJ4BGD

Both of these models have the B2 stepping and require the 2.10 bios.
The 9650 has the B3 stepping.

Trying to run an unsupported cpu is risky, it might not work at all or it might "kind of" work, but not reliably.
The only processors that ASRock has tested and that are known to work are in the cpu support list.

You can send a private message to ASRock TSD - Emily, include a link to your first post in this thread, and ask for her help.

Wikipedia has a list of the Agena Phenom X4 processors and most of the models have the B3 stepping.
List of AMD Phenom microprocessors - Wikipedia

            **edit**
I noticed that Emily is in the forum right now.
I sent her a PM and asked her to look at our posts and asked her to post additional information.

Emily wants you to send her your email address using a PM so that she can email you a special bios and more information about which processors will work with the bios.

Do NOT post your email address in this thread, otherwise spam bots can easily copy your email address and spam you.

                      Dear customer,
Thanks for contacting ASRock via TweakTown Forum.

About the question of using AM3 CPU, please kindly update the latest BIOS L2.26 from the attached file to try.
Due to the resource limitation, we couldn't help you to scan all AM3 CPU.
But we test below CPU with L2.26, these CPU can be supported by L2.26.
The CPU list is as below for your referance.
                      1. AthlonII X2 245 (ADX245OCK23GQ)
                      2. AthlonII X2 240 (ADX240OCK23GQ)

Re: Welcome to ASRock Technical Support Forum!

                          @ okno123svk
When you download the ALiveNF6G-VSTA(L2.26).zip bios file it will be in zip compressed file format and you need to unzip this file and copy the unzipped file to your usb drive for flashing. The unzipped file name is ALVN6VT2.26

The video that you linked to uses a different method of bios flashing.
It looks like he created a bootable CD that has a bios flashing program named Update on the CD.
You can't use this method if you don't know know exactly what you are doing.

On the Beta download page, the How To Update icon displays the following Instant Flash instructions:
                          Method 1:
                          1. Save the BIOS files on a device such as USB disk (FAT32 format), hard disk (FAT32 format) and floppy drive.
                          2. Press < F2 > during POST to get into BIOS setup menu.
                          3. Select the utility under [Smart] menu to execute it.

Do you see Smart menu option near the upper left corner on your bios screen after pressing F2?

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

When i was in Bios i try to pres every F buton from F1 to F12 but i still didn t get SMART option.

How much speed would i lost if x4 procesor would work ? It is even worthy paying 70euros(about 90dollars) for athlon x4 640 or performance will be almost same as on am3 mobo ? I hope you understand me with my english. :)

BTW thank you for moving thread. It much easier to follow answers on one place.

Thank you BIG for helping me.

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

                              You're welcome.

According to the flashing instructions when you Press F2 during POST, this will bring you to the BIOS setup menu.
From the BIOS setup menu you should select the Instant Flash utility in the Smart menu portion of the window to run it.

Look at the attached picture on the left.
The red box on the top left is for the SMART menu.
The red box on the bottom left is for the ASRock INSTANT FLASH UTILITY and this what you want to run to flash your bios.
The only way I could barely read this information was by viewing the window on the left in full screen mode in my image editing program.

                              note to ASRock:
                              1. These pictures need to have much higher resolution and the bios flashing instructions should be available as a high quality PDF file that can be downloaded!!
                              2. The bios flashing instructions should also say the the downloaded bios file is in the ZIP file format and that this file needs to be unzipped where the unzipped bios file needs to be copied to the usb flash drive or another drive that is formatted using FAT32.

Low resolution bios flashing instructions from the ASRock web page from the How To Update instructions.

Someone else will need to advise you on AMD cpu performance.
My only AMD experience was many years ago with an AMD K6 cpu.
