From ASRock > ALiveNF6G-VSTA - Beta Bios Download try Method 2 from the How To Update instructions for the L2.26 beta bios:

      Method 2:
      1. Save the BIOS files on a device such as USB disk (FAT32 format), hard disk (FAT32 format) and floppy drive.
      2. Press <F6> when you see this (or similar) page.

Send a PM to Emily and be sure to include a link to this thread.

Is there any way that you can take a digital photo of your F2 bios main screen and post the picture?

You can use the rectangular Insert Image icon to include one photo per post from your PC and you can include multiple photos only if they are accessible from a website, such as a file sharing site where each photo has its own web address.

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

Your screen-shot shows that your current motherboard bios version is 2.20.
When Emily responds, hopefully she can provide a link to a Dos flasher that will work with your L2.26 beta bios, where you can make a bootable usb or CD for flashing. You do NOT want to find just any ASRock Dos flasher to flash your system. If the flash fails, you might need to buy a new bios chip.

The YouTube link you provided in post #11 used a Dos flashing program called Update but this does NOT mean that any ASRock flashing program with the same name will work with your beta bios.

You can do a web search using how to make a bootable usb to find and download a free program to make your usb bootable. After you have done this, you would then copy your beta bios and the flashing program to your bootable usb drive. One of the most commonly used tools is the HP bootable usb tool. I don't know if winXP can create a bootable usb on its own.

Your 3GB of mixed memory sizes means that your memory is running in single channel mode.
Using memory where both modules are the same size would run somewhat faster using dual channel mode, but it's best if both memory modules have identical memory model numbers that are from the same manufacturer. Using memory from different manufacturers and/or have different part numbers can often cause stability problems. In some cases the performance difference might be minimal. You can check this out by doing a web search using single channel mode vs dual channel mode memory performance.

It's time to wait for Emily's reply.

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

I got a quick answer from Emily.

                Dear customer,

Due to ALiveNF6G-VSTA does not support Instant Flash function,

please update the BIOS in DOS environment with attached "ALVB6VT2.7z".

                1. Please have a bootable floppy disk or USB flash drive.

                2. Extract the file to the disk/drive.

                3. Then boot up system with the disk/drive and key in "ASRflash ALVN6VT2.26" to start flashing.

                * For the update tool, please refer the file.

Or, try the file "ALVN6VT(2.26)WIN.z_p" in Windows.

                1. Please rename it as ALVN6VT(2.26)WIN.zip, then extract whole file to desktop.

                2. Close all programs and double click "ALVN6VT2.26.EXE" to start flashing BIOS.

                3. Reboot system for check.

                Thanks for your e-mail.

                Good Day,

                ASRock TSD

                DOS version ALVN6VT2.7z
                Windows vesion ALVN6VT(2.26)WIN.z_p

I think i will go for an Windows version cuz i am little afraid of doing it with bootable USB if something go wrong. It is possible to this in a SAFE mode of windows to be closed most of programs to be it safest.
Or what do you suggest ?

I am not sure how i should do it with a DOS version.
Just put that files on Bootable USB. ALVN6VT2.26 and ASRflash.
Then i boot USB a then i just write this ASRflash ALVN6VT2.26 ? And thats it ?
I do not understand this * For the update tool, please refer the file.

BTW i thing this should be add on webpage because lot of people will be looking for tihs versions of BIOS for this mobo.

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

I don't like to use windows for flashing because many other brands of motherboards have been bricked (ruined) over the years when using windows for flashing.
I consider DOS to be the safer way to go.
If you ruin your bios chip while flashing, it will cost you about $15 to buy a pre-flashed chip where you would remove your old bios chip and insert the new bios chip.

I clicked on the DOS version ALVN6VT2.7z link in your post and downloaded a file with the same name.
I used my 7zip program to test the integrity of the file and it was OK.
I then unzipped the file and it created two files: ASRflash.exe and ALVN6VT2.26
These two files would need to be copied to your bootable usb flash drive where you would boot to the usb drive.
You would then type ASRflash ALVN6VT2.26

You can probably find several You Tube videos if you search using asrock usb flash bios
If it will make you feel more comfortable, create the bootable usb and copy a dos program such as a memory diagnostic program to the bootable usb and practice booting and using the usb before you flash.

Follow Emily's windows instructions if you are going to flash in windows.
I don't know if it's safer or better to flash when you boot using SAFE MODE, see what Emily recommends.

Write down any bios settings right now that have been changed.
You will loose your current settings when either type of flash has completed.
You must boot back into the bios after the flash to load optimal settings and to manually reenter your saved bios settings.
When you are done, save settings and exit.

Once you start flashing, YOU MUST WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES FOR THE FLASH TO COMPLETE.
NEVER TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER WHILE YOU ARE FLASHING.

"For the update tool, please refer the file" probably means that ASRflash.exe is the flash updating program tool.

                  Any questions?

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

So i finally flahed my BIOS 2.26 version using DOS method.

I made BOOTABLE USB via rufus program very easy.

                    Then i booted usb.

Then i just write "ASRflash ALVN6VT2.26"

                    And it was completed.

BIOS update pass. Please restart PC .

Then i went to bios and load Optimized defaults.

Finnaly maybe even today i will test x3 phenom procesor.

                    Thank you very much Emily.

And BIG THANKS TO YOU profJim

But still this can be very usable for someone with same MOBO i think it should be on the page or at least in the sticky thread.

Because acording to web page that method will not work.

Re: ALiveNF6G-VSTA and AM3 cpu support?

You're welcome and I'm glad to hear that everything worked out with your DOS bios flash using the 2.26 beta bios.

The information in this thread can be valuable for ALiveNF6G-VSTA owners but this is a motherboard that is several generations old.
A sticky has information that is useful to a large range of people.
I'm going to add some tags to this thread so that people searching the web or the forum can find this thread more easily.
I'm also going to edit my posts that deal with the incorrect ASRock flashing instructions that I posted so that new readers are not confused, and will include links to the correct information that ASRock TSD - Emily finally sent to you. I will PM Emily in a week if they haven't updated their website beta bios download files and instructions.

Let us know how you make out with upgraded cpu's.
Hopefully other ALiveNF6G-VSTA owners who apply the beta bios and upgrade their cpu's will post their cpu models that work with this beta bios.

                            Hi there!

I am trying to install a Phenom II X4 965 processor on a ALiveNF6G-VSTA motherboard.

I am trying to download those two files but they can't be downloaded from a PC web browser, from a mobile phone web browser the server web page says that they are not available anymore.

Could it be possible for you to reupload them, please?

(I have tried several times to send a private message to "ASRock TSD - Emily" but the forum asks me for logging again and again so the message can't be sent. The same occurs from last version of Chrome and Firefox.)

After downlading them and once I have tried to install the processor I would confirm to you if it worked or not in order to update your compatibility processor list since I saw that the last one of that list is the Phenom II X4 955.

                            Thanks in advance,

                            Regards!

I was looking the page again and i found your comment (i hope is not too late xd)

you can check in the Asrockpage(look at where it said "beta bios") ASRock > ALiveNF6G-VSTA

This change a lot the performance of this old machine. In fact, i installed win10 one month ago and work so fine! (even GTA V runs fine xd ).
About your question of the 965, i made a research and find out that the socket AM3 has a ddr2 memory support (not the am3+ ) . Thats why AM3 processors works in this mobo . So any AM3 processors should work

An old costumer brings me the other version of this mobo : AliveNF6P , this version only had 2 slots for ram.

And I thought, i can do the same like my mobo. But i didnt find anything about that, and neither a beta bios like NF6G.

Maybe someone here know something .

And sorry (again) to revive this old thread

                              regards!
