P55 instant boot pc not booting

instant boot worked fine for a couple of weeks, today the pc would not post, after rebooting it got to the starting windows splash screen then stopped at that, eventually it booted and after repairing system files is working ok. what could have caused the instant boot to stop working? looking on google i am not the only one to have had the problem.
