  • How to re-add a windows component after getting rid of it?

When I originally installed SP1 for my winxp home, I removed MS Outlook, as I figured I'd never need it. Now, I need it  Is there a way just to add Outlook on my computer (and if so, how?), or do I need to completely reinstall all of windows???

Outlook or Outlook Express? Regular Outlook is a part of the Office suite and OE is standard with Windows.

If Outlook, then go to Add/Remove Programs and click on the Microsoft Office application. From there you should be prompted for adding a component, uninstalling Office or reinstalling Office. Choose the Add Component and throw in the Outlook option.

If Outlook Express, then hit up the Microsoft site HERE.

    Good luck. ;)

If you just want to re-install the Outlook Express, which infact is a windows component, then you can re-install it in the same way you uninstalled it, while in case of MS Outlook which is an office component you can follow Darthtanion's advice.
      For OE...
Go to Add/remove programs from Control Panel and then click on "Add Or Remove Windows Components".
Check the check-box against outlook express and then click "Next".
Install as you would do with a normal application. Do remember to keep your WinXP CD handy cos that will be needed at the time of insall...
