  • Win XP build in ZIP extracter

I want to know is this build in thing useful? Does it takes out resources? If yes, how shall I disable it? Which program is good to replace it? Thanks

it is useful enough for day-to-day tasks. if you use zip files sparingly it is gud enough.
    Does it takes out resources?
yes it does but it is so negligible you might not notice.

in "run" box, type and then press enter.
    regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll

use some other zip utility like 7zip.

I'll second that, 7-zip is an excellent free open-source application :thumb:

*the .7z compression is also quite good. even better than .rar or .ace

I handle loads of zipped archives daily and Winrar works best for me. :)

Winrar for me, too. Never used any other, never needed to. End of story.:thumb:
