  • Need help with UBB

I've got everything installed on the host in the right dirs but theres still one thing I don't get at all. How would I go about "Mapping .cgi and .pl" on the server (which I own and is here). I know what CGI and Peril are but I don't know what they mean by "map" it.

There must be someone here that has made a UBB before?

      ok
I've done this a long time ago and i've only done it on IIS

go to internet settings thingy (sorry to much wine) - internet services manager

      properties of website

      isapi filters

      add

.cgi and point it to the cgi exe (i think its a little vague since i did this so long ago)

personally i;d get rid ubb and try vbulletin - cheaper & more functional www.vbulletin.com

if you have a win nt based PC and are using IIS, then CGI mappings are created by default, if you installed the perl API from the latest binary distro on the Perl website, it automatically connects to IIS and creates the ISAPI and MIME mappings, so in actual fact, you shouldn't have anything to do except set the permissions on the relevant folders...

whereas if u have a *nix based install...
