The video driver update might have happened with Windows Update. The Adobe Flash player may have been automatically updated, many versions of this video player have had problems with Windows 8.
You could try using a Windows Restore point to go back to an earlier software configuration, but I hope you understand how a restore point works and that very recently installed programs may not be included in older Restore points.
