  • Redhat 8.0 /mnt question

When I look in /mnt all I can see is CDROM , when I used Mandrake 9 I could read/exec all my NTFS partitions , how can I do this in RH ?

I know in MDK8.2 I had to turn it on in the Kernel configuration module of the control panel cause it was turned off by default. I assume it would be similar for RH. Hope it helps.

Redhat don't include ntfs support, you'll have to recompile your kernel with ntfs as a module.

can't you just get the ntfs module and load it instead of having to compile it straight into the kernel? or is that needed for something like this?
At the request of wiggo ;)

You could except redhat don't build the module, they don't include any ntfs support, modular or otherwise, by default.

The guys at the linux-ntfs project have provided an ntfs-rpm for redhat-8, you can read about the entire redhat-ntfs situation and get the rpm here.
