  • HSF Modem Compatibility with Linux

    Herro Peoples.

I've got Linux Mandrake 7.2 installed, and have found some generic drivers for my Rockwell/Conexant HSF Soft56k modem. When I tried to install first time, it punched me in the face with an error message claiming I didn't have the Kernel source installed. After checking that it was installed, as it was installed, I editied the install script to redirect the kernel source directory to the actual location on my drive. It successfully installed, but when I tried to use it, it failed.

Could anyone suggest any reasons why it is failing on me. I swear I'll never buy anything Conexant again

    Thanx.

I wouldn't say that about Conexant, my mother and I are absolutely sold on their non-HSF chipsets :)

All HSF modems have problems to a certain degree under Linux, but due to the tireless efforts of those in the community, some HSF modems do have a decent level of support.

I think Bern knows of a link to support for HSF modems under Linux... where are you Bern? :?:

Dont worry, ill back you up with the conexant chipsets sucking hard issue.

Try going back a few threads similar to this one. He has posted that link before listing hsf modems & their linux support status.
