  • Who runs Linux?

As a result of a breif disussion (here) I've desided to start a poll to see how many people here at TT actaully use Linux. Please state which distro you use as well (if any at all).

Currently use Mandrake 9.1 with winXP Pro on the side, have plans for Mdk 9.2 and/or Slackware 9.1 soon

          dual boot.

Windows XP Pro (default and what family uses)
Mandrake 9.1 ("my" OS that i'm currently learning/using)

i plan on trying to switch my parents and brother over to Mandrake 9.1. all i have to do yet for my parents is to get the printer working (btw, if anyone can possibly help me, drop me a PM)

Dual boot, windows for compatibility with people who persist in making their websites/documents "microsoft specific".

                      I primarily use:

                      Desktop: Debian unstable
                      Applications Server: Debian stable/testing
                      Web/Mail Server/Router: Adamantix

This is my first post from a RedHat 9 machine, and I must say I'm impressed. Never used Linux before, and decided to test it out (on a machine at work for starters.. ;) )

Haven't really tried to do too much with it at the moment, but for what it came with on the default install I'm very very happy. I could quite easily just ghost this now and make all the students use it. :)

Still got a couple little things to figure out, but with a bit of time and research should be good. Now that I know it's worthwhile, I'm gonna install it on my spare PC at home for a basic file / web server... and probably some game servers as well
