Re: WHATS A GOOD SCORE in 3dmark06?

well I'm running a p4 3.2 but with a Nvidia card, I ran at 3.6 cpu vid 460/1230 and got 2846 last run.

Here are some scores from another site I use for you to compare to:

    ---2262 - GaZZa - AMD 3800+X2 @ 2503MHz - X800Pro @ X800XTPE 520/560
    ---2204 - Kildare - AMD 2500+XP @ 2500MHz - X800XTPE @ 550/600MHz
    ---2175 - redhairkid - AMD 3500+ @ 2374MHz - X800PRO @ X800XTPE 549/588
    ---2118 - Mr Chilled - AMD 3500+ @ 2200MHz - X850XT @ 540/550
    ---2077 - dmcdude - Pentium4 3.0 @ 3604MHz - X850XT @ 545/550
    ---1913 - lulow - AMD 3200+ @ 2000MHz - X800XL @ 460/580
    ---1750 - Smudger - AMD 3200+ @ 2400MHz - X800XL @ 400/980
    ---1730 - rockuman_ex - AMD 3800+X2 @ 2424mhz - X800GTO @ 521/564
    ---1720 - banshee - AMD Opteron 170 @ 2807MHz - X800PRO @ 469/529
    ---1704 - dinos22 - AMD Opteron 165 @ 2725MHz - X800 Vanilla @ 429/1104
    ---1640 - gabbs19 AMD 3200+ @ 2431MHz - X800PRO @ 480/940
    ---614 - thunda - AMD Opteron 148 @ 2800MHz - 9800PRO 128mb @ 378/330
    ---181 - Amran - AMD 3200+ @ 2012MHz - 9600XT @ 499/351

EDIT: You could always post your scores on the ORB and use the compare function you realise. Click the 2846 in my sig, it's linked to my ORB compare page. The best I have seen so far for a p4 was a dutch guy running his pc in 0 degrees C air temps with a 3.2 cpu oc at 3.915, he scored 3098 (This is his compare link ). Because neither of us are using WHQL or FM approved drivers '06 does not read our video card oc's correctly. He also has a Nvidia 6800U. This benchmark is more about cpu than gpu, unlike 05 which was gpu intensive, the dual core cpu's are killing the single cores like us. I'm pretty sure your card does not support sm3.0 (you'll be able to tell from the result, there will be a N/A if it doesn't) and that will hurt your scores badly

Well I wouldn't go as far as to say it sucks, what clocks are you running it at? Note the clocks these other people have. No support for sm3.0 is probably the biggest fault with your card, hence the lower score. But hey this is just a benchmark, if all your games etc run OK I wouldn't let it worry you too much.

As I said, '06 is a lot more cpu dependent than '05 and the dual core cpu's get a greater advantage. To get a cpu score of 1146 the dutch guy had to oc his cpu to 3.9, now that is a major oc on air, you will note that at 3.6 my cpu score is pretty much the same as yours at 776.
