What should I do to get better performance here? this system scored 11456 on 3Dmark 2001. My system got 4778 3D Marks on 3DMark03, 1024x768 resolution settings all around.
    Nothings overclocked.

What should a system like this score anyway?
    P4 2.4 ghz CPU
    ATI Radeon 9800 pro
    512 2700 RAM
    Biostar USeries U8598 Mainboard
160 GB Maxtor (8mb Buffer) Harddrive

Anyone have something comparable so I know how this system stands up against other systems with close to the same specs?

You should do at least 14k stock, mine did 14,800 on defaults on best image quality.

Make sure your running properly (8x AGP, DX9.0b, new card drivers, etc).

Your score is identical to my last system, stock 2.4b / Ti4400 / 11,600 so you have a lot of room for improvement.

I have (8x AGP, DX9.0b, new card drivers, and not sure about the etc part). I only get in the 14k range when running 3DMark 2001 in 640X480. Any other suggestions to get to the 14k range in 1024X768 res?

Run in performance mode.....dont bench with all your normal progs running....etc...common sense stuff.

I would say performance mode was worth a good 750 points and benching in an ideal environment (nothing running) was worth another 500 points for me.

                What chipset is that?

ur nature score is in the hole...my ti4600 is 90...um, try getting latest chipset drivers, vid card drivers, make sure NO programs are running in taskbar, set all tabs in drivers to the left (performance) and that is all i can think of, i will post if i can think of mroe

A 2.4c / 9800 Pro system like that should be scoring 20k easy. Your low Nature score leads me to believe your AGP may not be enabled.

Another thing is to make sure that all unnecessary background processes are turned off as some of these can dramatically reduce ya scores.
