  • How to install Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 5 ?

    Hello,

my graphic card MSI N570GTX TFIII PE/OC supports triple overvoltage and triple temp monitor. But triple temp monitor (core/memory/VRM) is supported in beta 5 only. But that beta has expired and cant be installed. Is there some way to install it ? I`d like to know VRM temperatures because I have universal GPU block on GPU but memory and VRM is cooled only by thin metal plate and FAN.

    Thanks

Re: How to install Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 5 ?

I've successfully installed expired beta versions by:
    • change my system's date back to a date that is before the beta version's expiration date
    • install the beta version after the older date is set
Any time I want to use the expired beta version, I first need to manually set the system date back to an earlier valid date.

Have you tried any of these beta versions:

      Thanks! it works.

But triple overvoltage is supported only in beta 8 ... but not triple temp. This video card have temperature sensors on memory/VRM ?
I have to find out this directly in MSI support.

There is beta 5 MSI Afterburner Triple Overvoltage and I was thinking that my graphic card have temp sensors on mem/vrm.

Re: How to install Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 5 ?

Glad to hear that you got the beta 5 version working.

I've been using AfterBurner 2.0.0 triple voltage overclock settings with my N460GTX Hawk for almost a year.
In the AfterBurner properties, General tab, have you enabled Unlock Voltage Control and Unlock Voltage Monitoring?
I don't know if the newer version settings require you to enable additional temperature monitoring.
From the MSI AB page, it looks like triple temperature monitoring is supported in AB 2.1.0, but probably only for MSI cards that offer this feature. Right now my Hawk video card only has GPU temperatures displayed using version 2.0.0.

I have my old AB beta version installed in a different folder and have configured the monitoring output folder to be different from my current AB "final" version. I'll have to try 2.1.0 to see if triple temp monitoring is supported for my card.

Check out http://forums.tweaktown.com/video-ca...g-results.html to see what I've done with VRM heatsinks and a 92mm cooling fan for my setup.

Re: How to install Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 5 ?

I got answer from MSI. Why my card don`t support triple temp monitor.

          Dear Sir/Madam:
Thank you for contacting MSI Technical Support.

Regarding your concern, it is normal. Your graphics card can't support triple monitor. Because this card don't have displayport, however the software only show the ports of the graphics card.
          Sorry for any inconvenience.

          Best regards,
          MSI Technical Support Team!

Only cards with DP supports triple temp ?

My friend have N560GTX-Ti Hawk and that card don`t have DP as well and his card have temperature sensors on memory and VRM ...(triple temp monitor)

It`s not funny for you ? What a child is working in MSI online support ... simillar children also in Electronic Arts Live chat ...

          lol...

            There's been a misunderstanding.
MSI tech support thinks that you are asking about triple monitor support.
You want to know about temperature sensors on your video card and if your card supports triple temperature monitoring with AfterBurner.

It's possible that if you used "triple temp monitoring" that this phrase is what confused them.

Do you have a link to a website or review that says that your video card has additional VRM and memory temperature sensors?
What software/version does your friend use to monitor the temperatures for his N560GTX-Ti Hawk?
The additional sensors might only be on some models.

This is my original post in online support

Hello, I have new video card and I have one question about this card. I found this web site MSI Afterburner Triple Overvoltage . I have installed Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 8 (already lastest version) and it support that triple overvoltage but not triple temp monitor. Why ? My video card is in supported graphic cards (at the bottom of site). How could I activate it ?

Please answer on my question. Thanks

So AF 2.2.0 Beta 5 support that Hawk including triple overvoltage and triple temperature (temp) monitor. In my case (N570GTX TFIII Power ed.) in 2.2.0 beta 8 only triple overvoltage.

Yep, it was the "triple temp monitor" that they misunderstood. If it said "triple temperature monitoring" they might have understood.

From the AB page, these are the only N570 models that are supported:

                    • Added memory and VRM temperature monitoring for custom design MSI N580GTX Lightning series graphics cards with NCT7718W thermal sensors
                    • Added memory and VRM temperature monitoring for custom design MSI R6970
                    • Lightning series graphics cards with NCT7718W thermal sensors
In the MSI AfterBurner Readme files for v2.2.0 beta5 and beta8, these are the only references to thermal temperature monitoring. There is no reference to the N570GTX or N460GTX Hawk video cards, even though both of our cards are included in the list on the AB web page. The version 2.1.0 Readme file makes no mention of VRM and memory temperature monitoring.

I'm going to contact MSI tech support to see if/when our cards will be able to monitor these temperatures.

That MSI site about Triple overvoltage has been updated ... MSI Afterburner Triple Overvoltage

                            - Support list for graphic which supports triple overvoltage
                            - Support list for graphic which supports triple temp monitor

My graphic card support only overvoltage. Also, I don`t find any Nuvoton NCT7718W component on PCB.

It looks like their updated support list now accurately describes the features supported for their video cards.
Several software monitoring programs now support the NCT7718W thermal sensor and will report the temperature readings on video cards that use the thermal senors. Using my infrared digital thermometer is not the most convenient way to monitor video card temperatures by aiming it at backside of my video cards.
