Desktop for Virtualization
Hi guys,
I'm planning on separately purchasing all the parts to build-up a powerful Desktop for the purpose of Virtualization.
I intend to transform this host machine in a virtual Information Security Lab with around 10 guest Virtual Machines (emulating CISCO networking hardware via GNS3 and Windows/Linux boxes).
It's been a while since I've chased for hardware and I really feel kinda lost with all the brands/models/versions that are available nowadays.
However, I know two important premises when it comes to the Virtualization I need:
1) RAM: A minimum of 32GB DDR3;
2) Processor: Must be hyper-threaded (can span tasks across several cores if necessary).
Could you recommend any brands for the motherboard/processor/memory/storage combination that would suite my needs?
