I want 2 powerful speakers and 1 killer sub-woofer :afro:

anybody got any suggestions on what brand, or exactly what I should go for?

Depends on how much cash you have readily available. If you want top of the line sound quality, then you can get both 2.1 and 4.1/5.1 speaker systems from Klipcsh, but if price is more an issue, then you can look at some of the offerings from Altec Lansing and other manufacturers like this.

Well, a friend of mine has a altec lansing set and it rocks. Especially the subwoofer. As soon as I blow up my creative set I am going to get me one of those

        Depending on your price range...

My Altec lansing ACS-45.2's blow away my new creative inspire 5.1's - the ACS-48's are even better.

        the 45.2" are around $50US I thinks the 48's are closer to $100 -

If you've got the cash - Klipcsh is the way to go- the 2.1's are somewhere around $175

Unless you happen to have a computer microprocessor embedded within your cranium to tell the difference in sound quality, you won't be able to notice a difference between your home system and the Klipsch speakers (as long as the sound card you have doesn't suck).

After all, what else would you expect from the company who makes a majority of the speaker systems for theaters around the world? :D

If price is important, go Altec Lansing. If price is no objective - go Klipsch :thumb:
