  • SATA cable Length

In my upcoming system I'm planning on using a full tower case that is just under 26in. tall (670mm) tall. I know there is an 18in. max advisable length for normal ATA cables, which if I would have to combine an optical drive and a HD drive on the same channel would def. pose some problems. I'm curious if anyone knows the max length of a SATA cable, so perhaps I can run my HD's to SATA and leave my optical drives for dedicated channels (hopefully the cables will be long enough). Also, since I haven't really heard anything about it...are there any SATA RAID solutions out there? Thanks
