  • Seagate Tape Drive

Ive just been given a Seagate Tap0e drive and Adaptec SCSI
PCI card . Everything went well in the setup except it says this

SCSI Bios not installed !! when booting up .

This prevents it from working .

Ive checked in the bios for a setting to no avail , must be a driver or something ?? It is old but still useful i think. Can any one help ??

Your SCSI board has it's own BIOS, so if the drivers aren't there, it doesn't know how to read it. Try hitting up the manufacturers website for drivers and possibly a BIOS update to the SCSI card.

Most likely you'll have to hit some key combination like CTRL+ A to access the BIOS of your SCSI card and set the SCSI ID's it needs to scan to find the tape drive. also make sure your SCSI chain is terminated with the correct type of terminator [active/passive/LVD/HVD/etc], you'll probably need to make sure the SCSI id is set properly with the jumpers on the drive..

This ain't Plug N Play its SCSI..
