  • SATA HDD power from non SATA ready ATX

I'm putting together my first build and I decided on a SATA HDD since the motherboard supports this. Apparently, the PSU that came in the case does not have a connector that fits into the SATA power connector on the HDD. Is there an adaptor or do I need to wait for a new PSU. I plan on upgrading the case PSU but was going to wait a bit. Thx for any info.

Gotta love it when it takes four minutes to answer your own question. LOL

Glad you found the adaptors. They're pretty easy to come by with the widespread use of SATA drives. More power supplies are coming with native SATA connectors, though, so it kinda proves the technology is here to stay.
