  • HDD & DVD/CDrom

I'm having a ***** of a time getting the Bios to recognize both my WD 100gb HDD and my HP DVD/CDRom.

Motherboard is Soyo P4S Dragon Ultra. Award BIOS 2001.

I have the HDD on IDE1, the DVD on IDE 2.

The BIOS only recognizes one of the units. It recognizes the HDD if the DVD is attached to IDE2.

If I leave IDE1 empty and DVD on IDE 2, the BIOS recognizes the DVD/CDrom and looks for a cd-rom boot disk.

How do I get this working?

Well it is best to have each device on seppart channels as this allows faster transfers but your problem maybe with the jumpers on the drives which are locate on the rear of each so make sure that both are set to be masters. Also if both are set to master on 1 IDE channel then this will cause both not to be seen. Check to make sure that cable select in not what the jumpers are set at. :smokin:
