  • Pentium 4 Power Requirements...

    Hey
Yea, I know its a newb question, but who gives a toss :P
Im going to get an AOpen HQ08 and whack an Athlon XP 2000+ in it
Now, I notice lots o stuff about being 'P4 Ready', and am not sure weither to take this to mean p4 only
And before you ask, yes I did a Google search first (As I always do before asking a question anywhere :P )

    Thanks

No it just means that the PSU has the added P4 4 pin power connector but an Athlon system will do just fine with it as well. ;)

I knew what that piece was but.......do you happen to know what the pice is that looks like half an AT connector? That's not P4 related is it?

Some Intel and AMD (mostly dual AMD setups) mobos will use this connector to supply extra power to the board just like most mobos with AGP Pro slots will usually have a 4 pin molex power connection close to it for supplying extra power to the graphics card if its a AGP Pro type. ;)
