asrock z68 extreme3 no power

    asrock z68 extreme3 no power

    just bought new board and it will not power on, is it dead
    I've checked the psu on other pc and it works fine.
    i do not have processor installed could that be the problem, i was just making sure PSU was not faulty.
    but PSU will not power on with this board
    I've tried with atxv12 plugged in and not plugged in.
    please help .
    would the problem happen if the MB was grounded to case?.
    any tips would be helpful, i do not want to return this board i like it too much.

    does cpu fan spin? and any mb led lights lighting up ?

      thanks for the feedback, don't have CPU installed.no lights on MB just nothing

        I don't know of any mainboard that will boot unless you have a CPU and RAM in it ... but then again, i don't claim to know it all. But my guess is that is why

          thanks. i think you might be wright about this,though a couple of peeps on other forums say you can start the mobo with no cpu
          so until i get the cpu or i get a reply back back from asrock support i will just wait and twiddle my thumbs.
