  • NTLDR is missing

I formatted my gf's hard drive after a suspect virus infection. Upon trying to re-instal win XP I got the following error, "NTLDR is missing". I googled it and apparently it's an issue with the BIOS. Can this be repaired; if so how do I go about doing it?

    MB Specs: AM2NF6G-VSTA

    thanks,
    Graham

Read this for a fix for that issue on XP:
Simple "ntldr is missing" fix with boot floppy, CD-R, or USB flash

I am in NO way affiliated with Gigabyte.
If you use a BIOS I Modified, you do so at your own Risk and Assume Full Responsibilty !

Apparently, when I formatted the drive after the infection I didn't see a 10 meg partition; there must have seen some winXP files on it when trying to instal windows.I reformatted after deleting the small partition and everything worked just fine.
