Re: GA-965P-DQ6 Crossfilre
Well, i never gave it a chance to try running with Crossfire as I already sold my X1800's, EVERYTHING I read said no Crossfire for this or any 965P board. The two PCI-E slots do not communicate internally so Crossfire is not possible. I even read 3-4 reviews where they ised an X1900 Master card with a slave and it would not enable. SLI is possible since it does not rely on the fact the 2 slots are not able to communicate, but it hasn't been proven to work perfectly as well.GIgabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

Re: GA-965P-DQ6 Crossfilre
Gigabyte Tech Support says crossfire will work, but not SLI. And Tweraktown says the 965P does crossfire, bit other sources say no. I guess no one realy knows, and I'm not willing to be the test pilot.
By the way, I hit 8006 PCMarks with my DQ6 rig rig last night.

Re: GA-965P-DQ6 Crossfilre
Just got mine up and running today. I must say I am extremely impressed by the speed. This PC on stock settings with 1 video card is faster than my Opteron 165 OC'd to 2.9GHz and running X1800 Crossfire.
As for Crossfire on this board, I still stand by saying no, it won't work. Anantech could not get X1900 Crossfire going and that is one site I give ALOT of credence too. As for Tweaktown saying it will, early press reports said this chipset would, but in the end, it won't.GIgabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

Re: GA-965P-DQ6 Crossfilre
ATI is officially supporting X1900 Crossfire now on the 965 chipset boards with the 6.9 Catalyst drivers!!!!!!! And lucky for me, I just traded my 7900GTX for a X1900 XT!!!!! I desperately needed dual GPU's for this LCD since the native res is too much for 1 card. I'll let you know how it works in about 3-4 weeks.GIgabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

Re: GA-965P-DQ6 Crossfilre
Small update. A single X1900 has fixed 90% of all my gaming issues. Now running 2X AA and 8X AF @ 1920X1200 with games set to high details. I guess it is true that ATI has more grunt on the higher resolutions. While I still want to get Crossfire going, it will take me some time as I am having a tough time selling the GTX. Plus I really want to upgrade my ram to 2GB as well. There are threads on XS with guys running 965P Crossfire and the performance hit is about 10-15% in benchmarks, so the real world gains are there if you are desperate for more speed. I like to run ridiculously high AA and AF levels so I will get a X1900 master sometime soon, just gotta save up the $300-400 it is gonna cost.....GIgabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
