  • Can I use DXdiags to find out which MB I have?

I have a Dell PIV 1.7 Ghz system.

I've NEVER updated my BIOS or MB drivers because I don't know the specs for my MB and so I just don't know which ones I need. I've tried many avenues, but I just can't seem to get this information.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'd bet money it is if I had any.
Anyway, the easiest and quickest way is to just download CPU-Z. It should take less than a minute to download it, run it, and determine what motherboard and chipset you have.
