I posted in the what to buy forum and got no response.

I have a credit at future shop and this mobo is one of they few interesting things they have. They will pricematch as well(found $155cdn somewhere else). Anyone used one of these? Is it any good? What about the s-ata riser card for an extra $50cdn, is this bad?

It depends on what you plan on using the board for. Soyo makes very good products, but they are more prone towards stability than overclocking. So I guess what I'm trying to get across is that if you just want a good board with decent features and near perfect stability, then you'll be happy with the Soyo board. If you plan on creating a toy enthusiast rig, then you're likely to be disappointed.

Oh come on guys, a little input? I noticed tt has done reviews on more than one soyo board, but not this one. Can anyone link a competent review?

Oh come on maximus, you're one of us, you know we'd never feel "right" about recommending anything but the BEST mobo to any other brother tweaker. Just wait till they have a HSU or some Fans on sale and use it for that. Or an 8rda3+, PCP800, NF-7, ect.

I never paid much heed to reviews of this particular board since a buddy of mine had it and he is an enthusiast. To but it bluntly, from an overclocker's perspective this motherboard sucks nuts.

Besides, the KT400 is so far out of date that it doesn't merit much interest. You'll be much better off getting something with the nForce2 chipset. Even a crappy nForce2 board will be far better than a great KT400 board.

Thanx for the input guys, that is what I was looking for. It just seemed to good to be true, having so many extras and being so rubust with ocing options, it was quite tempting. Looks like I will use that credit for some new 5.1 speakers and another monitor. Or maybe just a new wash machine instead. The credit came as a surprise and I thought maybe since I am a broke family man and all, that It could come in handy for that elusive 2nd machine without havin to fork out the non existant $'s.

Even though it is off topic, this thread is an offshoot of this one. So if you guys have any input about the other stuff, it would be greatly appreciated.
