i seen easily over 50,000 itaniums in one building.

50K Itaniums? According to this Inq report, highly unlikely.

But now a source close to AMD has whispered into my lughole what he believes the figures are so far for 2001 and for 2002.

The figures are 760 in 2001 and 3700 in 2002. There are no figures for 2003 yet.

Even if the AMD source is widely off base, you haven't seen 50K worth of Itaniums. Xeons maybe.
