  • Allocating more video ram

I only have shared ram for video on this laptop I am fixing up and selling to a friend. It has 16 MB now, can I change some value somewhere to have more than 16 MB?

    Thanks

Only if the BIOS allows you to but then what was your question about these forums again?

You can look into the BIOS and check. Although most OEMs strip the BIOSes of their systems bare, I've found systems with shared video memory often have the choice of increasing or decreasing the amount. You'll need to go into the BIOS and look, which is most commonly done by pressing "delete" or one of the F (F2, F10, etc.) keys. If it's not there, your out of luck. I wouldn't worry about it much though because the video is bound to be so weak that the only difference will be a few frames per seconds in some very old games.
