New Ram Dont Work!! Need Help!!

hi.....i just bought a kingston 512mb ram and the shop dealer told me it's freq is 400 (which i dont wat it means....i am a computer idoit :p)

i installed it and i kept getting a blue screen.....

then i took out the original ram (which is 512 mb, 266 frequency, kingston too) and use the new ram....the pc show: detecting floppy disk, insert system disk....something like tat.....

so now the question is: is the new ram spoilt or the new ram is not compatible or some other reasons??

If you know your other system configurations it would hlep us greatly.

Usualy problems like this are due to incompatbailities. However a faulty PSU(power supply) could also be the problem though doubtful in this case.

The "Please insert system Disc" usualy appears when a hard drive is damaged, pluged in wrong, configured improperly, or there are corupted system file(s).
