  • PC3200 RAM in a PC2100 mobo

I'm going to build an EPIA Micro-ITX setup, and the mobo can take a single stick of DDR266 RAM.

Seeing as DDR266, DDR333 and DDR400 all have a similar price, would a stick of DDR333 or DDR400 work with the mobo, but run at a DDR266 speed?

If this method works, would it be better than just buying DDR266 RAM?

Yes, and yes. PC3200 RAM will have much more use if you ever replace the board with something that can use it.
