  • How do you tweak the memory?

I heard a lots of this memory tweak that involve CAS lantency(from 2.5 to 2,something like that).Problem is,I don't know how to start my own tweaking

And what is this tip that my friend gave to me suggest?

"Under 'Advanced Chipset Features',lower the CPU-Multiplier and increase the freaquency in stages. The ideal would be to synchronize the speed with the RAM,and tthen to restore the original CPU-Multiplier."

By the way I'm using a GIgabyte GA-7VA mobo(motherboard)and AMD ATHLON XP 1800+:bounce:

OK it is best to have the CPU FSB and memory FSB at the same speed. (Your XP 1800+ would be 133FSB right?)

Slowly increasing the systemFSB would give better performance, but depending on your hardware your system may or may not like it. The multiplier 'multiplies' the FSB giving the desired FSB.
    eg: 133(FSB) x 11(Multiplier) = 1463MHz.

Letting us know what memory you have (speed etc) will help alot.
