My friend is thinking about getting ATT cable internet, and he wants to hook up 2 computers to it without ATT knowing about it. A while back i looked into this and found that by using a router to 'spoof' (is that right?) the MAC address of the NIC card, he can hook up both of his machines with only 1 IP. Is this correct?
Also what is a decent router that would work with this setup that has the needed features.
    thanks

Dependin on how the company works, you may be able to get away with just using any old router. However, if you need something that can spoof MAC addresses, I do know that most Netgear routers are capable of this. I use the RP114, and it does everything I need it to do. It's a little beast. :)
