The connection between the isp customers are fiber, 100 Mbit.

Out on the real web it is 10 Mbit.

I agree.
My whole point is that for 50$ or whatever he's paying for, having a fiber line run to your house is somewhat expensive, mostly overkill, and a very odd residential connection type to someone here in the states...
